This week, the Border Police (PoliFront), a special unit of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) which was created in 2017 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23116-haiti-security-the-united-states-supports-the-new-border-police.html has summarized in figures the results of the first 6 months of the year 2021.

During the first half of the year, PoliFront carried out 3,415 patrols and handled 331 cases leading to 185 arrests, 126 of which were referred to other PNH entities.

33,280 vehicles were checked at the three border posts occupied by PoliFront as part of the fight against smuggling, clandestine migration, human trafficking and smuggling...

PoliFront also welcomed 36,470 Haitian nationals, most of whom had been turned back or deported by the Dominican authorities.

Nearly 50 attempts at illegal travel and irregular immigration have been foiled, as have numerous cases of child trafficking.
