As provided for in the "Political Agreement for Peaceful and Efficient Governance of the Interim Period" (Article 14) https://www.haitilibre.com/docs/Accord-Politique-pour-une-Gouvernance-Apaisee-et-Efficace-de-la-Periode-Interimaire.pdf initiated by Prime Minister Ariel Henry and signed on September 11, 2021 by the Executive Power, parties and groupings of political parties and civil society organizations hhttps://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34722-haiti-flash-the-radical-opposition-sdp-signs-the-agreement-for-peaceful-governance-with-pm-henry.html the Government of the Republic has, by order on Monday, September 27, 2021, freed the members of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) from their links with the public administration. Thus, it was decided to revoke the decree of September 18, 2020 appointing them and setting the mandate of the electoral institution.

Article 1.- Is and remains reported the Decree of September 18, 2020 appointing the members of the Provisional Electoral Council

Article 2.- This Decree repeals all Decrees or provisions of Decrees which are contrary to it and will be printed, published and executed at the behest of the Minister a.i. of Justice and Public Security.

In reaction to this dismissal Me André Michel, one of the leaders of the radical opposition, declared "The dismissal of the current CEP is an important step in the implementation of the September 11, 2021 aggrement. We will ensure that the next CEP is credible and legitimate [...]"
