Haiti - FLASH : The Bahamas lift the travel ban for Haiti
During his weekly press conference Clint Watson, the press secretary to the Prime Minister of the Bahamas, informed that the travel ban imposed on Haiti and Cuba had been lifted.

Remember that since February 15, due to the Covid-19 pandemic
"The entry into the Bahamas of any vessel or person that has left Haiti, whether by direct transport routes or through another jurisdiction and arriving by air or sea will be prohibited for a period of 21 days" period became quarantine renewed several times.

He also announced that the airline Bahamasair had resumed its flights to Haiti "There will be two flights per week, Bahamasair: One to Cap Haitien, which was yesterday, and the other to Port-au-Prince, which will be on Saturday."

To date, the Bahamas have fully vaccinated over 40% of its population, far from Haiti (less than 2% of the population vaccinated) which is not the only country to have low vaccination rates in the region. In October, Jamaica, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines had vaccination rates below 20%.

Sanitary conditions required to enter or return to the Bahamas :

Before departure for the Bahamas, all unvaccinated passengers aged 12 and over must pass a Covid-19 RT-PCR test (swab)
(The name and address of the laboratory where the test was performed must be clearly displayed on the test result.)

Before departure for the Bahamas, fully vaccinated passengers aged 12 and over must take a Covid-19 Rapid Antigen or RT-PCR test (the name and address of the laboratory where the test was performed should be clearly displayed on the test result.)

All children between the ages of 2 and 11 must take a Covid-19 Rapid Antigen or RT-PCR test.

All children under the age of 2 are exempt from the test.

Once in possession of a negative result, passengers will need to apply for the Bahamas Travel Health Visa by visiting https://travel.gov.bs where the negative test result must be downloaded. (The cost of the travel health visa depends on the length of stay; it includes Covid-19 health insurance which covers passengers for the duration of their stay and takes up to 72 hours to process.)

Passengers under the age of seventeen (17) who are not traveling alone can add a profile to the parent / guardian's Travel Health Visa application account, rather than requesting one separately. (Households traveling together are encouraged to use one email address per family to receive responses. Groups can also use only one email address for responses.)

If you are connecting in New Providence and are not leaving the airport between flights, no test is required. (If you are departing from another island and logging into New Providence overnight, a test is required.
