The Head of State will travel to Chile this Thursday, August 11 in response to the official invitation, transmitted last Friday by Alfredo Moreno, the Chilean Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The President Martelly will be received at the "Palacio de la Moneda" where he will meet the Chilean President, Miguel Juan Sebastián Piñera Echenique. It will be discussed between the two men, to broaden cooperation between the two countries in areas such as safety, health and education.

Recall that Chile has deployed in Haiti, five hundred soldiers under the UN Mission for Stabilization in Haiti (Minustah) and that since June 2011, the Directorate of the Minustah is ensured by the former Chilean Minister of Affairs Foreign Mariano Fernandez Moreno. Since the earthquake of January 2010, Chile has always been alongside of Haiti to help it generously.

After this visit to Chile, the President Michel Martelly, will travel Friday to Argentina in response to the invitation of the President of Argentina, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, transmitted by Hector Timerman, the Argentine Minister of Foreign Affairs during his visit to Port-au-Prince on July 20.
