On 22 August (in Les Cayes) and August 23 (in Jacmel), 500 haitian teachers selected to attend the training, of the Initiative for the distance training of teachers (Initiative pour la Formation à Distance Des Maîtres - IFADEM) in its experimental phase, are convened for their first grouping.

The Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training, the International Organization of Francophonie (OIF) and the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) officially launch the training in Les Cayes on August 22 [200 teachers of the department of South-East] and in Jacmel on August 23, 2011 [300 teachers of the Southern Department] are convened for their first grouping IFADEM.

It is to the École Normale d'Instituteurs (ENI) of Les Cayes and to the Basic School of Application, Teaching Support Centre (EFACAP) of Meyer (Jacmel) where the IFADEM has set up two digital space, that the groups will take place. The group of trainers (educational advisers, inspectors and teachers of French Alliances) and the group of tutors, will host them.

During the two days that teachers will spend in the ENI and to the EFACAP, they will receive their educational material, will be informed of the modalities of training IFADEM and introduced to the use of books 1 and 2. A half day will be also devoted to an introduction to computers and the Internet (3i) provided in the digital space.

A delegation of representatives of the Ministry of the OIF and the AUF will travel to Les Cayes on Monday, August 22, 2011 in Jacmel on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 for the launch of the training.

The Departmental Directors, Mr. Régelhomme Joseph (Les Cayes) and Mr. Marc ElderCharles (Jacmel), Ms. Chantal Roques, Representative of the OIF, Ms. Beatrice Kebreau Representative of the AUF and Jacques-Yvon Pierre President of the National Committee, will make speeches at the launch.
