Haiti - Politic : 1,350 fundamental teachers enter continuing education 04/08/2022 09:46:52 The departmental directors of education Jean Marcel Jeanty from Grand-Anse, Sylvain Jean Désir from the South, Joseph Dumay from the North-East, Max Eddy Augustin from the North-West and Jean Nelson Pierre, the manager of the Nippes, insisted a lot on the importance of this training to improve the quality of learning and promote the academic development of children. This training programme, financed by the National Education Fund (FNE) and coordinated by the DFP, is inspired by component 2 of the National Policy for the Training of Teachers and Supervisory Staff (PNF/EPE) which provides for an increase in the level of qualification of teachers in post; It respects the first of the 12 measures of Minister Nesmy Manigat https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11781-haiti-education-exam-results-disappointing-the-minister-manigat-announced-a-package-of-measures.html recommending the requalification of teachers through continuing education; It complies with the Ten-Year Education and Training Plan PDEF 2020-2030 and is one of the Ministry's priority projects for the 2022-2023 school year. This program covers 9 training sessions. The first three will be held in 2022, and the other 6 in 2023. It is developed on the basis of a course of 13 modules totaling 270 hours. The modules are subdivided into 5 disciplinary sub-modules (Didactics of French, didactics of Creole, didactics of mathematics, didactics of experimental sciences, didactics of social sciences) and eight professional sub-modules (Psychopedagogy, sociology of education, management of class, pedagogical planning, evaluation of learning, educational technology 1, learning theory, general didactics). At the end of this training, the participant who will have obtained the required average will be entitled to the Certificate of aptitude for teaching (CAE) and will be able to take part in the official examinations of the Normal School of Teachers (ENI) and work, by the following obtaining a degree in education sciences in the Public Universities in the Regions. In the five departments targeted, this continuing education program will be provided respectively by the North-East Public University in Fort Liberté (UPNEF), the North-West Public University in Port de Paix (UPNOP), the des Nippes (UPNIP), the University of the South in Les Cayes (UPSAC) and the public University of Grand-Anse (UPGA).
