UN : Still no intervention in Haiti
As the crisis in Haiti worsens every day, Wednesday, April 26, 2023, the UN Security Council agreed on the need to support Haiti immediately, but gave no sign of wanting to decide sending an international force to fight armed gangs. PNH : 25 hostages freed in 48 hours
Wednesday, April 26, Commissioner Garry Desrosiers, Spokesperson for the National Police of Haiti (PNH) presented a partial report of the two days of operations in Debussy and Canapé-Vert. 3 police officers were injured and 25 hostages were freed, including 10 at Pacot and 9 at Debussy. 4 assault rifles, three 9mm pistols, 35 telephones, ammunition, communication radios as well as memory cards and 3 vehicles were seized by the police authorities. The number of casualties on the side of the bandits is not yet known.

Canada's promises
Canada's Ambassador to the UN, Robert Rae, cited sanctions as "an important tool in breaking the power of armed gangs". He said Canada believes action is vital and told the Security Council that his Government had decided to increase training support and provide new equipment to the National Police of Haiti this year.

1,647 crimes in the first quarter

Jazz : Joel and Mushy Gousse Widmaïer invited to Quebec
As part of a North South collaboration between the CEM, Center Experimentation Musicale de Chicoutimi (Quebec) and the Haiti Jazz Foundation, Joel Widmaier and Mushy Gousse Widmaïer have been invited to take part in a musical residency whose restitution will take place on Friday April 28 at the Saguenay Jazz & Blues Festival for International Jazz Day.
