Haiti - Politic : Postponement in the confusion of the Assembly of ratification in the Senate
The President of the Senate, the Senator Jean Rodolphe Joazile, had convened yesterday Monday in Assembly, the Senators for a debate followed by the vote of ratification of Prime Minister-designate, Dr. Garry Conille. However, several factors and a certain confusion led to the postponement of the ratification meeting which should be held, unless new incidents on Tuesday at 11:00am.

The President of the Senate explained Monday "...for the ratification of the Prime Minister designate the Commission finished its work, it requested that 24 hours before we do this session, we communicate the report [to each senator]. The President of the Commission has therefore sent Friday, the report by email to each Senator [...] Sunday I received the report that several other senators have also received [...] since it was 24 hours before I decided to make the meeting today. When I came [to the Senate], there are many senators who have indicated their intention to have all the documents that the Prime Minister-designate had submitted, we have made copies of all these documents and we have given them to all senators who were present [...] there is no reason for the meeting does not take place tomorrow [Tuesday]..."

In fact, Monday, around 3:00 pm, only a dozen Senators, mostly from the Alternative were present... and contrary to what the President of the Senate said, the Senator Edmonde Supplice Beauzile has not seen him "it is 3pm because no one has shown, that I have not seen the President, his phone does not answer [...] the session will not take place [...] the President has not shown, and we do not know where are the other Senators, I am the last person to leave the room..."

Same observation for the Senator Jean William Jeanty "...soon it will be 3:30 pm, I saw practically nobody... Whether you want it or not, we have a certain personality, and when we learned that these ladies and gentlemen are in negotiations... I have no reason to stay here until they have their share of the pie, it does not make sense [...] as these gentlemen have in any case the majority, they do what they do, if it is a strategy to make a vote "Goudou Goudou" we have no problem..."

Simon Dieuseul Deras, The President of the Special Commission in charge of analyzing the documents of Prime Minister-designate, warned and asked the Senators and members of the G16 to stop to negotiate... He believes that "60% of group of 16 are in favor of Dr. Conille. Since the majority takes a position, all the rest will obey to this position [...] I can not say that inside the Senate the body is united, because the affiliations are different [...] However, many times, we arrived to join us [...] there are not two groups, one for and the other against [...] the Commission is in in favor of Dr. Conille [...] there was an contradictory debate around the question and we have related the discussion in the report... [...]

I warns the Senators and the members of G16 against any negotiations with the President Martelly at the level of the sharing of responsibilities, especially the Senators who would like take positions in the hands of the President Martelly we are against that and we ask them, if they have started, to stop. One of the reasons, is that the team of the Presidency has no respect for the given word [...] it will not honor his word, I'm sure..."

Earlier in the day, at the National School of Tabarre, on the sidelines of the launch of the new school year, the Head of State was confident stating about the ratification "everything advance, everything advance I believe that today we will have the second ratification meeting, I hope, and then we wait..." responding to the question of a journalist, to know if he thought that Garry Conille had chances to be ratified, the President answered "certainly, certainly..."
