Haiti - Economy : Investment and jobs, between expectations and hopes...
While the Prime Minister ratified, Dr. Garry Conille and the President Martelly consult each other on the composition of the ministerial cabinet and the general policy statement of the Government, the economic actors and the population await in priority the investment and job creation.

Edouard Paultre, head of the Haitian Council of Non State Actors (Conseil Haïtien des Acteurs Non Etatiques CONHANE) declared "...For over 20 years, there is a political staff hat needs to be renewed within the country, that needs to set the tone to the change in the country, [...] that will give a signal that the policy can be done in a different way. Now what results we expect from this government ? You know that the country faces great challenges, there is the unemployment rate which is extremely high, which is unacceptable. We need a government that is able to say, as Mr. Martelly has already said that the country is open for business. Is a good thing, hat says open for business, said job creation, therefore, we need that the government indicates us how much jobs, it thinks create each year. Of course we do not think that the state is able to give a job to everyone, but it is the government's ability to receive investment, not just from Haiti but also foreign investment, which can allow us to create these jobs."

For Hervé Denis, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Haiti (CCIH), the ratification of the Prime Minister is an important step and he hopes that the next Government will promote business opportunities "Of course we have expectations, as the whole population because the President Martelly was elected since some time and the ratification of a Prime Minister had to be subsequently [...] Now it's done, we passed an important step, we hope that it will continue so that we can find opportunities for our business, not only for ourselves, but obviously for the whole population [...] we hope that a legitimate government, will also have the means to apply a security policy to encourage the investment in the country..."
