On Tuesday, discussions between the signatories of the Kingston Declaration, those of the December 21 agreement and Prime Minister a.i. Ariel Henry could not resume due to the unavailability of the Apostolic Nunciature where the negotiations were to take place. The parties will have to quickly find another place and another time because Prime Minister Henry will be traveling from September 15 to 25, 2023. Artibonite hit hard by cholera Tuesday, September 12, 2023, in an updated report presented by officials from the Saint-Nicolas de Saint Marc hospital, the cholera epidemic claimed the lives of 3 people and infected 38 others. This dangerous disease has hit the Artibonite department hard, particularly the commune of Saint Marc, for the last two months. Dr. Frantz Alexis, Medical Director of the hospital, expressed concern about the rapid spread of the epidemic and urged the population to respect hygiene measures in order to limit its spread in the region.
