Haiti - Politic : Back home, Ariel Henry is satisfied with his participation at the UN (Video)
Monday September 25, 2023, back in the country, Prime Minister a.i. Ariel Henry, accompanied by several members of the Government, gave a press conference at the Dilomatic Lounge of the Toussaint Louverture International Airport, around his participation in the 78th ordinary session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), in New York.

Excerpt from the conference :

"In the meeting I had with President William Ruto, President of Kenya, he told me that the police and soldiers in his country have already started training and strapping their bags to help us. It is the grace of the United Nations Security Council that they are waiting to land."

"Kenya is not alone in this mission. There are already twelve other countries that are ready to donate materials, logistics and money as part of the possible deployment of this mission in order to combat armed gangs and restore order and security in the country."

"We took advantage of the United Nations platform to reaffirm the sovereign right of Haiti over all the rivers located on the border with the Dominican Republic which must be equitably shared with the two countries of the island." On this point, the Head of Government does not intend to back down "Because Haiti has the same rights as the Dominican Republic."

Ariel Henry took the opportunity to remind the neighboring Republic that only true dialogue, mutual respect, can resolve disputes, emphasizing "It is neither by force, nor intimidation nor by the movement of the army that we can solve this problem."

Henry is convinced that stability is a "sine qua non" condition for the organization of the next elections which should allow the country to elect the political personnel who will have to face the challenges. Rejecting any idea of exercising a presidential mandate, he promised to move forward with those who wish to work with the Government to achieve these objectives while waiting for other sectors to jump on the bandwagon for the benefit of the country.
