Haiti - Politic : Arnel Bélizaire returns in Haiti today
Arnel Bélizaire was arrested at the airport

While he is the subject of an arrest warrant issued by the Commissioner of the Government of the prosecution of Port-au-Prince, Me Felix Léger, the Deputy Arnel Bélizaire [who was on an official visit to France for the Parliament and not on the run...] confirmed that he will return home on Thursday around 5pm on the last flight of Air Caraïbes, to the Toussaint Louverture airport. Known for his criticism against the President of the Republic, the deputy said "to have no fear to return in his country"

Gary Desrosiers, the Deputy Spokesman of the Haitian National Police (PNH), said on Wednesday that the agents of the order will execute the instruction received from the Prosecutor of Port-au-Prince in order to apprehend all escaped from prison whose names appear on a list which include among others that of Deputy Bélizaire "...the police is the auxiliary of all public institutions, including justice. The police are there to perform all judicial decisions, automatically, it's the Prosecutor of Port-au-Prince that passes an instruction to arrest an escape or any person. The mission of the police is to arrest the person and bring it to the justice [...]" regarding the immunity of deputy , the Spokesman clarified "...generally the police does not fall in these details, because the police are there simply to obey the order of justice..."

Several colleagues of Deputy Bélizaire promised to go to the airport to welcome him.

The Deputy Patrick Robasson, confirms that he will be present in sign of solidarity, according to him, all the ectors of national life must block against what he calls the "dictatorship martellienne" that is taking shape.

The Deputy Ocinjac Benjamin, President of the Commission justice and security, of the Lower House, which will also be at the airport advocates for the compliance with procedures of waiver of the immunity of a parliamentarian."It is the Assembly of Deputies which can decide to put a colleague at the disposal of justice [...] the arrest of Deputy Bélizaire would be a great blow against the Parliament and democracy [...] They can always arrest it but my position is that today the arrest is illegal, arbitrary and unfair. Us parliamentarians we have taken an oath on the constitution of 1987, we are obliged to respect the law, that is why we fight also on the other side of the barricade, to respect the law. If I commit an offense as a Deputy, this does not mean that I will not go to jail, but there is a way to go..."

The Deputy Bertrand Sinal, informs that the Chamber of Deputies has the duty to support their colleague in order to consolidate his position. The Deputy Bertrand said that Arnel Bélizaire can not go to jail for the reason that he is not favorable to the Head of State and that he has indicated publicly. "...we take the opportunity to denounce this project of dictatorship of the presidency, because Arnel Bélizaire went to the election and has filed documents; DCPJ gave him his papers. During the challenges, it was not disputed. During the validation period nothing has been said" adding that if everything goes wrong today, for the Deputy Bélizaire, it's because he responded to President Martelly about stupid things...
