Let's recall that Joseph Vincent had pleaded guilty to conspiracy to assassinate the President of Haiti Jovenel Moïse and admitted to having participated in strategic meetings before the assassination in 2021. According to a court document, he had posed as a representative of the American Government.

Vincent collaborated with federal prosecutors in providing evidence of the meetings, logistics and actions of some of the other co-defendants who have yet to stand trial.

The same day, Frederick Joseph Bergmann Jr., a Florida resident, also pleaded guilty to charges including submitting false or misleading export information.

Bergmann Jr. was arrested with three other Floridians a year ago, at which time U.S. authorities said he helped finance the mercenaries' housing in Haiti and helped ship body armor to Haiti by falsifying export documents. He was also sentenced to life in prison.
