10 employees of the Varreux oil terminal kidnapped

Kidnapping at the Varreux Terminal : Around ten employees of the Varreux terminal were kidnapped at the beginning of the week, on Haile Selassie Avenue, commonly known as the "Route de piste" as they were returning home. The kidnappers demand $500,000 in ransom for the release of the hostages.

Gang Choice : Prison or Death

Denis Hankins, Ambassador of the United States in Port-au-Prince, declared on the airwaves of a TV in the capital "Gang members will have to choose between prison and the cemetery."

Contingency plan for the UEH

The resumption of activities at the State University of Haiti (UEH) is paralyzed. CPT : National Conference

The Presidential Advisor, Leslie Voltaire specified on the creation of the national conference, that it will be established in the ten departments of the country, including the diaspora and will serve as a space for collecting information on all the needs of population.

Curfew renewed

In order to restore order and take appropriate measures to regain control of the situation, the Government once again renews the curfew throughout the territory of the West Department, from Tuesday May 28 to Monday 3rd June 2024 between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. This measure does not apply to law enforcement officers on duty, firefighters, ambulance drivers, health personnel and duly identified journalists.
