Haiti - FLASH : Two FAd’H soldiers killed in combat

Patrick Pélissier, the Minister of Justice and Public Security, expresses with deep sadness and deep emotion, his pain over the tragic death of a Haitian police officer from the Anti-Gang Unit (UTAG) in Kenskoff (February 18), two soldiers from the Haitian Armed Forces (Fad'H) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-44365-haiti-news-zapping.html in Delmas 30 (February 25), as well as a Kenyan officer (February 23) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-44351-haiti-news-zapping.html who died fighting armed gangs.

"These valiant law enforcement officers lost their lives during the last courageously conducted operations to uproot the armed gangs that terrorize our Nation. Fallen as heroes, they demonstrated exemplary commitment to restoring order, defending Peace and protecting the Haitian people against the forces of violence and anarchy.

In these moments of pain, I would like, on my own behalf and on behalf of the entire institution, to express my most sincere condolences to the bereaved families, the loved ones of the victims, their colleagues and the entire Haitian nation, shaken by these inestimable losses. The Nation mourns today its heroes, who fell while bravely fulfilling their sacred duty to protect and serve.

Faced with this cowardly and unacceptable act, the Minister of Justice firmly affirms that he will not back down from any obstacle. In close collaboration with the other members of the Government led by Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils Aimé and under the leadership of the Presidential Transitional Council, all necessary measures will be taken to restore order and guarantee the safety of citizens. The Haitian National Police (PNH), in coordination with the Multinational Security Support Mission, will be responsible for carrying out, with determination and efficiency, operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks and ensuring that fear finally changes sides. It is imperative to put an end to this spiral of senseless violence and never again lose our valiant agents who embody courage, dedication and the spirit of sacrifice.

In this time of trial, the Ministry renews its unwavering commitment to law enforcement and reaffirms its determination to establish a climate of peace and justice for all Haitians."
