Haiti - Social : Martelly commemorated with pride and honor the 208 years of the independence 02/01/2012 06:53:52
In his speech for the occasion, the President of the Republic recalled the wars fought by our ancestors for independence. He noted that these wars should continue today, but this time to improve the lives of the Haitian population. In this regard, the President stated that the Prime Minister had already presented a road map that he deems appropriate to the change advocated. The President of the Republic recalled the efforts already made in the education sector. For his part, the mayor of Gonaïves, Jean Wesner Amiziale, thanked the President of the Republic and took the opportunity to submit the claims of the inhabitants of Gonaïves to the Head of State. The President of the Republic wants to create a favorable investment climate. All necessary steps will be taken to bring security throughout the country. In this perspective, the Head of State announced that the report on the return of the Army of Haiti was ready, the commission had recommended the formation of a new modern army for Haiti. "This report will be submitted to the competent authorities of the three powers for appropriate action," has informed the President Martelly. Acclaimed by a huge crowd on the Place d'Armes, the President Martelly closed this Memorial Day with a distribution of gifts including dozens of motorcycles, as was the case in many cities where, in a spirit of solidarity and sharing, he has made happy on the occasion of Christmas and the holiday season.
