Haiti - FLASH : The PNH regains ground in downtown Port-au-Prince (Summary, video)

On Friday, November 29, 2025, Vladimir Paraison, the Acting Director General of the Haitian National Police, presented a report on his first 100 days at the head of the police force and expressed his satisfaction while acknowledging that much remains to be done and challenges to overcome.

He highlighted several successes, including the reduction of gang-controlled areas in the city center, which he said had fallen from 32% to 20.89%, detailing the numerous positive outcomes for the population resulting from police operations.

In Delmas, the gang control rate reportedly dropped from 13.3% to 3.64%, thanks to targeted operations and interventions by special units. He also mentioned the recent recapture of control, among other areas, of the Teleco and Bélot zones in the Kenscoff commune, stating that the situation is under control in the commune. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-46276-haiti-flash-the-pnh-wins-the-battle-of-kenscoff.html

In Artibonite, Vladimir Paraison welcomed the increased police presence and a slowdown in the criminal advance. He noted a resumption of activity in Désarmes, L'Estère, and Pont Sondé, while acknowledging that Artibonite is not yet free of gangs but that the Haitian National Police (PNH) continues to make progress.
