SEMANAH Denial
On Friday, December 12, 2025, the Haitian Maritime and Navigation Service (SEMANAH) formally denied reports of an alleged shipwreck off the coast of Gommier, in the Grand4Anse department, which supposedly resulted in the deaths of approximately forty people. "After thorough investigations conducted in coordination with the Coast Guard and our regional offices, no shipwreck or loss of life was recorded in the area in question."

15 Years of Economic Stagnation
In its report on public finances over the past fifteen years (2009-2024), the Superior Court of Accounts and Administrative Disputes (CSC/CA) reveals that "[...] the Haitian economy has become mired in prolonged stagnation, showing an average annual growth of 0.07%."

Digital Professional Identity Card
This Monday, December 15, 2025, at the Karibe Convention Center in Pétion-Ville, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry will officially launch the digital Professional Identity Card (CIP).

Afreximbank: US$500,000 Donation to Haiti
Dr. George Elombi, President of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), announced a donation of US$1.1 million to the governments of Jamaica and Haiti, including US$500,000 for Haiti, to support their reconstruction efforts following the damage caused by Hurricane Melissa in October 2025.

Registration : Women's Entrepreneurship Support Project
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry invites all women entrepreneurs working in various sectors such as agriculture, processing, technology, etc..., to begin registering for the Women's Entrepreneurship Support Project (PAEF) by December 31, 2025. All women who already own a business or have an innovative project idea can submit their application during this period.
