Haiti - Politic : 4 judges appointed to the Court of Cassation

Pierre Michel Brunache, the Minister of Justice announced that the Court of Cassation "cut" for several years of several of its members, was now completed by the nomination of 4 judges "...I can announce you [...] that 4 judges have been appointed, the order was signed by the President of the Republic, the Minister of Justice and the Prime Minister, so now the Court is complete.

I have the names, but you know the process of appointment of judges to the Court of Cassation... some of the lucky appointed, are not yet aware, so I prefer to speak directly with them by phone are not yet aware, so I prefer to speak directly to their phone rather than tell them in the media.

Now that the Court of Cassation is completed, I can now be confident in the establishment of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ) by the end of this month, a process that will take place nevertheless in several steps considering the delay accumulated with the Court of Cassation, but we advance for the swearing in of members certified.

We will put in place a working group with the Council to advance at the administrative level, to ensure that the CSPJ be effective during this year..."
