Haiti - Politic : The Mayor of Port-au-Prince refuses to leave his position

Muscadin Jean-Yves Jason, the Mayor of Port-au-Prince, Thursday denounced decision of President martelly to dismiss the municipal Council he heads, appointing in its place a Municipal Commission of 3 members [Gabrielle Hyacinthe (President), Jean Marie Descorbett, and Junior Gérald Estimé (Members)] https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-5060-haiti-politic-a-municipal-commission-replaces-the-mayor-of-port-au-prince-and-his-team.html

Denouncing "a coup against the municipal government of Port-au-Prince" he announced, he had no intention to leaving office.

The Mayor indicated that he will in accordance with the municipal order of 23 December 2010, activate the Security Council communal "This order gives us the prerogative to assess the situation and take appropriate action against anyone who tries to break the law in the country," adding that the Security Council will have for tasks to redefine, among others, the priorities and strategies face to what he calls "the evolutive delinquency" of the Government.
