Haiti - Diplomacy : Official Visit of Prime Minister in the UK
The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs performs from Wednesday 25 to Saturday, July 28 an official tour in the United Kingdom, during which he will meet among others, political and sports authorities.

The Chief of Government will meet Her Majesty the Queen of England, the Prince Charles and several other heads of government of the Caribbean, he will also have talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and of Commonwealth, the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and FIFA officials.

Laurent Lamothe also take advantage of his visit to London, to inaugurate the "Maison d'Haiti" which will expose the diversity of our ar tand crafts products at this global event and will accompany the Haitian delegation who will participate in the 2012 Olympics in London. The official delegation of Haiti of our 5 athletes qualified who will defend the bicolor : the young capoise Linouse Desravine (Judo) and in Athletics of Moïse Joseph (800 m), Marlena Wesh (400 m) Jeffrey Julmis (110 m/hurdles) and Samyr Lainé (triple jump), as well as 3 coaches, a doctor, Gérald Fong the Chief of Mission and two official, Jean Edourard Baker, President of Haitian Olympic Committee and Alain Jean-Pierre, Secretary General of the Committee, and a journalist.

Samyr Laine [ranked in the top 12 in the world] will probably be the flagship of Haiti during the opening ceremony, July 27.

Meanwhile, Laurent Lamothe, who had recently expressed his satisfaction with the decision of the UK authorities to establish a diplomatic mission in Haiti after 40 years of official absence in the country, believes that the development of Haiti is also linked to the strengthening of its links of cooperation with other sisters nations and intends in the sense continue his efforts to revitalize the Haitian diplomacy.
