Haiti - Economy : Laurent Lamothe made the promotion of Haiti 28/09/2012 11:17:02
The Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, strongly reaffirmed, Thursday at the Clinton Foundation, in a meeting of the Presidential Advisory Council on Economic Growth and Investment (PACEGI), the commitments of his administration to attract foreign direct investment and those of the Haitian diaspora. Laurent Lamothe highlighted the multiple potentialities of Haiti, without omitting some shortcomings in various areas. He urged businessmen to come and invest in a country that is about to be transformed "Of course we are facing difficulties of all kinds, but this did not prevent us to launch a general survey to identify companies. We are in the process of reviewing the e-commerce legislation to make it more attractive." Co-chaired by Haitian businessman, Mr. Gregory Mevs and former U.S. President Bill Clinton, the PACEGI launched on 8 September 2011 [which includes among others : eight former heads of state, five leaders of multinational corporations and a Nobel laureate], has the mission of promoting direct investment in Haiti and the brand "Haiti", as well as advising the President on the policy and strategic initiatives to attract investments to create sustainable jobs. This meeting is an important milestone in the efforts of the Martelly-Lamothe team and of PACEGI, for investment promotion, as well as strategic initiatives for Haiti. See also: HL/ HaitiLibre
