Haiti - Diplomacy : President Martelly warmly welcomed in Kinshasa 13/10/2012 11:25:03 Later, in the late afternoon, the Cameroonian authorities enjoyed a stopover of President Martelly in Douala [Cameroon's economic capital], to recognize the efforts of the Head of State and transmit him their gratitude to the Haitian people which represents for them the symbol of resistance and freedom. Finally, the President Michel Martelly, is arrived in the evening of Friday at Ndjili airport in Kinshasa [the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo], where he was warmly welcomed by the Congolese authorities led by Mr. Alexandre Loba Ntamb, Deputy Prime Minister and Congolese Minister of the Defense and Veterans Affairs, who accompanied the President of Haiti to the City of the African Union, which houses thirty Heads of State and Government invited. This Saturday morning, the Head of State met with his counterpart, the President of Guinea-Conakrie, Mr. Alpha Condé, about bilateral issues in the areas of agriculture and education. "We have common situations after more than fifty years of crisis, but we have invested heavily in agriculture, in particular, in the construction of dams that allow us to irrigate our lands and provide electricity," stressed the Guinean President who promised to develop the Guinea cooperation with Haiti, that he considers as the representative of Africa in America. For his part, the President Martelly, informed his Guinean counterpart of the optimism that animates the Haitians, which just come out of a difficult period [earthquake of 2010] "We are optimistic, even if the situation remains worrying," said the Head of State, who has invited the President Condé, to the solidarity and cooperation in various technical areas in which Guinea excels. The President of the Republic will intervene at the People's Palace in Kinshasa, in the 14th Francophonie Summit, on the efforts made by the Administration Martelly-Lamothe, for the development of Haiti, especially in the fields of education and the rule of law.
