The association "Haïti Mémoire et Culture" , presents from October 18 to November 10, 2012, under the auspices of the City of Paris and the Town Hall of the 20th arrondissement of Paris, the photographic exhibition "Haïti, un peuple debout".

Bringing together sixty photographs of Murielle Mignon, professional photographer, the exhibition explores two sides of the Haitian reality : one hand, the daily, the work and resourcefulness, on the other side the relationship to religion.

"Haïti, un peuple debout" gives to see the country in a day other than that of sunny beaches or the image of a people oppressed by poverty, malnutrition, insecurity, major natural events and political violence.

Murielle Mignon went as close as possible of these men and women whose pride and courage boost paradoxically the morale of those who are at their side.

In this exhibition harrowing, and captivating visitors will discover, as stresses the Dr. Jean-Christophe Rufin, historian, writers, globe trotter and French diplomat "there is no many thing still standing in Haiti [...] nor the trees, or houses, or institutions. But the people, him, never goes down, no matter what happens."
