Haiti - Reconstruction : Suspension of works of Wharf of Petit-Goâve

Began on 15 November 2012, the reconstruction work of the Wharf of Petit-Goâve, are now suspended for lack of funds, indicated the Haitian firm ECOMAR, responsible for the project "Until now, no amount has been disbursed by the authorities [...] The company is short of money, it can not ensure the continuation of work. It is necessary that the government pays the first installment, as has been agreed," declared the a person responsible for the firm ECOMAR.

Thursday, fearing a permanent cessation of the work, the population of Petit-Goâve protested against the intention of the company to withdraw its equipment of site and demanded an immediate resumption of works and the release of funds, threatening to take to the streets if their demand was not met...

Recall that during the announcement of this work, November 10, 2012, Luc François aka "Louco" a well-known notable of Petit-Goâve had declared "The forthcoming reconstruction of this wharf illustrates very well, that Michel Martelly is a man that keeps his word [...]" today the inhabitants ask the fulfillment of the commitments of the Head of State.
