Haiti - Health : Inauguration and donation of equipment to the Notre-Dame Hospital of Petit-Goâve

Friday, January 18 was inaugurated the renovation of the new building, which will receive the Surgery Service and Pediatrics of the Notre-Dame Hospital of Petit-Goâve. During a ceremony attended among others by : Dr. Gustave François, Director of UCS-Goavienne, Dr. Watson Exantus,Medical director of the hospital, Mrs. Chie Uchiyama, the representative of the Japanese charge d'affaires, Sandra Jules, the Mayor of the city, was also presented a whole range of medical equipment intended for the new services. Building and equipment were funded by the Japanese government.

"I thank the Japanese government, which has never ceased to express its solidarity with the Haitian people, in all circumstances [...]" declared Dr. Gustave François.

Mrs. Chie Uchiyama, retraced the history of Japanese assistance to the hospital since 2010 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-1655-haiti-reconstruction-new-japanese-government-assistance.html and expressed the "pride of the Government of Japan to contribute to the improvement of health conditions of the population of Petit-Goâve [...]"

"I give the assurance that the hospital administration, will properly manage the renovated space and equipment put at our disposal. We will thus provide better services to the population," promised Dr. Watson Exantus.

In addition, the reconstruction works of the fence f the hospital funded by the Ministry of Health are almost finished.
