Haiti - Tourism : The first «Transat» tourists are arrived in the country

As previously announced, the first tourists who bought the package tour operator Transat Canada have landed yesterday Wednesday 23 January 2013. on the runway at the Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince.

About 25 passengers have bought this package combining cultural tours guided to a seaside holiday on the Côte-des-Arcadins. Tourists will spend two nights in Port-au-Prince and five nights on the Côte-des-Arcadins.

In Port-au-Prince, they will visit the Museum of Haitian National Pantheon (MUPANAH), Boutiliers Observatory the Rhum Barbancourt distillery, the Iron Market and attend shows like the International Jazz Festival of Port-au-Prince and evenings of traditional music group RAM.

Natural sites as Saut d'Eau, islets Arcadins are, among other natural attractions listed in the tour visitors through their seaside holiday on the Côte-des-Arcadins.

This tour package is the result of the agreement announced in December and signed at the beginning of January between the Ministry of Tourism of Haiti and the Transat "Our tourism development strategy is based mainly on working with selected partners as Transat, which became the first major Canadian tour operator offering holiday packages in Haiti," said the Minister of Tourism for Haiti, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, adding that "Tourism is an engine for socio-economic development of the first order [...] Haiti has all the potential to regain the heart of international travelers."
