Haiti - Social : «Operasyon libere lari» in Pétion-ville
Monday morning, members of the communal brigade assisted of numerous police officers launched the operation "libere lari" and invited the merchant to free the streets and sidewalks. In a first step, the City Council has set the priority to clear the streets : Rigaud, Grégoire, Lamarre, and the surrounding areas, but intends to release a second time all the streets and sidewalks of Petion-ville, of merchants.

Dominique Saint-Roc, interim agents of the city, invited the merchants to vacate and find a place in the markets of the town, which are according to him, mostly unoccupied "They will find places to Telele, Kokoye, and to Kafou Lektò." An operation that provoked strong reactions from several merchants who intend to make resistance and defeat this operation.

In this first phase, the priority is to the dialogue indicated Mr. Saint-Roc, stating that in a second time, "If merchants do not want to obey [voluntarily], the City will be forced to use other means more stringent."
