Haiti - Tourism : Hotel and Tourism Training Institute in Les Cayes
The Departmental Directorate of Tourism in the South, has announced the start of admission process for the recruitment of the first class of the Hotel and Tourism Training Institute in Les Cayes (IFORHT) whose opening is scheduled for next March. IFORHT leaders plan to recruit, on entrance examinations, 60 students, enrollment will end on 15 February 2013.

The various training programs that will, for now, offered at the IFORHT are :

  • Reception / welcoming
  • Accommodation / Housekeeping
  • Bar services

The establishment, a former base of the Minustah, has been redesigned by the Ministry of Tourism in the South. Will be the first training school in the trades of Tourism, at the level of the third city of the country. The trainers will be recruited in Les Cayes and in the Hotel School of Port-au-Prince.

Ms. Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, affirmed that the training is part of the priority areas of intervention of the Ministry of Tourism and reaffirmed her commitment to continue its policy of training in the supervision and construction of new training centers to improve the quality of services relating to the reception of tourists in Haiti.
