Haiti - Economy : Launch of operations of verification of gas stations 30/04/2013 11:00:37 As of Monday, four inspectors of MCI have controlled a gas station in Lalue, where they carried out their operations on the 14 vending pumps of this station [diesel, gasoline (91 and 95) and kerosene] in order to ensure the accuracy of standardized measures. The verification completed technicians put a sticker "accepted" on each approved equipment. "This work, which aims to put the consumer and the seller in confidence is of paramount importance," explained Junior Dorçant the Head of Metrology stressing that this operation is part of the process of Consumer Protection of MCI in particular and of the Government Martelly-Lamothe, in general. As part of these operations, technicians of MCI will visit an average of four gas stations per day, and similar operations of verification will be conducted in a timely manner in the provincial towns. It provides services to both control agencies (legal metrology) and economic operators (Industrial Metrology) in order to ensure fairness in business transactions, the improvement of the quality of the health and safety of the population.
