Haiti - Economy : Haiti slightly reduced its bans...
Tuesday, Wilson Laleau, acting Minister of Commerce, indicated that the Dominican Republic could again export normally, meat of cattle, while stating that the ban remained maintained for poultry and eggs "We had decided to block the entry of all meat product [precautionary measure], but when we learned that it was the H1N1 virus, we decided to review our decision [...]" Ironically, Wilson Laleau, that recognizes that the H1N1 virus, found in the Dominican Republic, had nothing to do with the chickens does not explain the continuation of the ban on poultry products...

In addition, the Minister Laleau announced that an expert mission will travel to the Dominican Republic in order to determine with the relevant authorities, which companies could be allowed or not to export poultry products in Haiti "It is sufficient to have a favorable report to see the trade between the two countries resume," declared the Minister calling on the population to remain calm...
