Wednesday, as part of their preparation for the 12th edition of the Gold Cup [7 to 28 July 2013], the Grenadiers following a 2-weeks training in Montreal under the aegis of Auchem League, the Grenadiers in front of more than 5,000 spectators at Claude Robillard won, not without difficulty, the victory against FC St. Leonard, defending champions 2012 of the Premier League soccer of Quebec 2-1 thanks to a goal in overtime (90 +2), of Hérold Junior Charles of Tempête FC.

With this victory, the Grenadiers are emained undefeated after having beaten the Montreal Impact, respectively [2-0], the Griffons of SC Mont-Royal of Outremont [2-1] and a draw [0-0] before the Royal Select Beauport. A positive balance of 4 Matches, 3 wins, 1 draw, 6 goals, 2 received.

Dominating the first half, the Grenadiers have created several great opportunities of goals including that failed of Yves Hadley (15'), on the transverse bar of FC St. Leonard. Two minutes later, the Grenadiers opened the score [0-1], with a goal of Sony Nordé (17'). On a oul play committed in the penalty area by Ricardo Adé [defender of Baltimore SC] the referee awarded a penalty for the home team, penalty converted by Pierre-Rudolph Mayard (41') [1-1]

After the break, the repeated assaults of Grenadiers have encountered the solid team FC St. Leonard, who valiantly resisted until the late and decisive goal in overtime of Hérold Junior Charles (90+2) which offered a well-deserved victory to our national selection [2-1].

Friday the Grenadiers left Quebec to board a bus to New York (USA) to face Honduras on Monday, the first day of Group B of the Gold Cup 2013.
