The main political opposition organizations grouped in the Patriotic Movement of Democratic Opposition (MOPOD), RDNP, PLH, PROP, Ayisyen pou Ayiti, KID, Ansanm Nou Fo, INITE, Fusion and OPL, invited by the Executive on Wednesday in a meeting about the organization of the upcoming elections on the theme "Dialogue on Elections" declined the invitation.

Some believe that the President has no morality required to invite, others seem convinced that the approach of President Martelly, do not allow the country to break the deadlock...

For Dr. Maryse Narcisse, of the Steering Committee of Fanmi Lavalas "We are ready to take part in a dialogue, not a monologue" denouncing the abuses of power in place, according to her only persecute opponents.

For her part Edmonde Supplice Beauzile, President of the Fusion of Haitian Social Democrats, asked the Head of State to create conditions that foster an open dialogue between stakeholders...

OPL in an open letter to the Head of State wrote "[...] The Executive Committee of the OPL was surprised to learn that the theme of this meeting invites to a 'Dialogue on Elections' whereas, atthe general opinion, the power not think about it [...]"

Faced with this refusal, the Private Office of the Presidency, in a note "bring to the attention of the parties, organizations and political groupings that following the remarks of some politicians and in order to create a wider channel for dialogue between the actors involved in the construction of democracy, the meeting originally scheduled for Wednesday 14 Aug. 2013 at Karibe Convention Center is canceled.

Pending further consultations to create a more conducive environment to these democratic discussions, the Private Office of the President urges the parties, organizations and political groups to believe in the will of the Executive to create a climate of political detente that would guarantee the stability and security, prerequisites for the creation of employment and sustainable development."
