Haiti - Politic : The Dominican Republic will have to explain before the OAS

At the request of Ambassador Celia A. Prince, Permanent Representative of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to the Organization of American States (OAS), the decision of the Dominican Constitutional Court, which expose the denationalization a high number of descendants of foreign citizens, mostly of Haitian parents, born in the country between 1929 and 2013, was brought to the agenda of the regular meeting to be held this Tuesday, October 29, in order to obtain explanations from the Dominican Republic.

The discussion around this decision, which will affect several Member States of the OAS, intervenes less than a week after a meeting of President Danilo Medina with the National Council on Migration, after which, the Dominican executive declared to submit to the decision of the Court. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-9724-haiti-denationalization-the-dominican-government-accepts-the-decision-of-the-constitutional-court.html

Recall that St Vincent and the Grenadines, was among the first countries to protest against the decision of the Dominican Republic and Ralph Gonsalves, his Prime Minister had sent a letter about it to the President Danilo Medina.
