Haiti - Social: The repatriated receive support from the State

The Government of the Republic of Haiti is increasing its efforts to ensure support of Haitian citizens who have been countered to return voluntarily in their country, Haiti, following the incidents of Neyba (Dominican Republic) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-9945-haiti-security-strong-tension-in-the-dominican-republic.html , a delegation composed among other of Ministry of Interior, the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES), the National Office of Migration, the Directorate of Civil Protection and of Welfare made ​​the trip to the border Haitiano-Dominican (Malpasse) to provide the support of the dministration Martelly to the victims of unfortunate events of Neyba.

This high-level delegation also conducted an evaluation of the situation to allow a better orientation of state actions for thoses who deceided to return in Haiti. Arrangements have thus been made ​​to host the Haitian flows that arrive daily from the Dominican Republic. A center was opened for this purpose in Plaine, Marin 36, to accommodate these people.

Government interventions are increasing particularly through the FAES which has already completed the distribution of 4,000 hot meals, 950 "Panye solidarite" and 452 hygiene kits to those people constraint to return to Haiti, operations have continued Wednesday, this has enabled the distribution of 1,000 hot meals and 1,000 "Panye solidarite" additional.

The National Office of Migration (ONM), for its part, received 464 compatriots including 133 children from Neyba. The latter also received hygiene kits and financial allocation [1,000 gourdes] in order to facilitate their return to their places of origin.

A register, aimed at enroll children that are old enough to go to school, in the Universal Schooling Program Free and Compulsory (PSUGO) and a "solidarity voucher" payable next week for these compatriots in difficulty, are also available.

The Government of the Republic that promises to bring the government assistance to the Haitian citizens repatriated that evolves the other side of the border, reiterates its firm determination to continue to favor the path of dialogue with the Dominican Government to sustainably address the migration issue.
