Haiti - Education : No incidents for the 1st session of the examinations of the Permanent bac
The first session of examinations of the Permanent bac for candidates of the bac 2nd part (Philo) of the academic year 2014-2015 started this Monday, Dec. 15 (15 to 18) through the ten Regional Directorates of Education (DDE) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12720-haiti-education-9-307-candidates-expected-to-the-exams-of-permanent-bac.html for the bac Rhéto candidates must, in turn, pass their examinations in their respective schools and demonstrate of their success before moving to the next class.

All reports of the various DDE confirm that so far everything took place without incident in all examination centers. Instructions and schedules are met, the teachers are mobilized and in office. The candidates say appreciate the proper conduct of the process of organization of examinations and the quality of the first philosophy and biology texts submitted to them on Monday. On this point, Joseph Job Maurice, the Director of Secondary Education of the Ministry of Education confirms that substantive work has been done for the assembly of texts.

A total of 9.307 candidates taking part in these official exams that are part of the dynamics of educational reform. Indeed, according to point 4 of the twelve measures https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11781-haiti-education-exam-results-disappointing-the-minister-manigat-announced-a-package-of-measures.html exam sessions are scheduled during the academic year for candidates thatfailed in philo. The practical dimension that underlies this decision is to allow these candidates, after successful completion of these exams, to turn to a professional or university education, without waiting for the start of the new academic year.

In accordance with the new provisions for monitoring and correction of copies, the staff is composed solely of teachers in office, assigned to a school. Its participation in the permanent bac therefore is part of his normal duties as a teacher (unpaid). Gratuity will be offered to them to facilitate travel. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12587-haiti-education-end-of-additional-compensation-for-supervision-and-correction-of-exams.html

Unlike those who feared this new formula promoted by the twelve measures, the teachers-supervisors, and the teachers-correctors have given their support to this directive of the Ministry, an initiative that aims to alleviate the financial burden of running of the state examinations as a whole and give back to this operation its true educational value and not a commercial activity.

The correction of copies that starts this Wednesday, December 17th will last five days. Recall that a training session on the principles of measures and educational assessment and ethics was organized for the 344 teachers-correctors recruited on the instructions of the Minister Manigat https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12720-haiti-education-9-307-candidates-expected-to-the-exams-of-permanent-bac.html The objective is to improve the process of correction of copies of candidates.
