Haiti - Politic : 34% fewer women, in the government of Evans Paul !
If one can only welcome in the new government of consensus the reduction of -16.6% for the ministers and -15% for the State Secretaries, one can only regret that women are the big losers of this government of consensus which gives a large part to men, with representation in command positions, down by 34%. The new government, with 37 persons appointed includes only 6 women (19.34%) for 31 men, far from the 30% quota prescribed by the constitution, while the previous administration, included 10 women (29.41%) for 34 men.

The Situation in figures :

Martelly-Lamothe government :
The outgoing cabinet was composed of 24 ministers:
17 men
7 women (5 Ministers more 2 women delegates Ministers) against 17 men (29.16%) :

Supplemented with 20 Secretaries of State:
17 men
3 women for 17 men (17.64%)

Making a total of 44 (including Ministers, delegate Ministers and Secretaries of States)
34 men
10 women for 34 men (29.41%)

New consensus government Martelly-Paul :
The new ministerial cabinet consists of 20 ministers (-16.6%), including 1 minister delegate
8 ministers are from the previous government and 12 are new
16 men
4 women (2 of the previous government (Tourism and Health) and 2 new (Culture and Women) for 16 men (25%)

Supplemented with 17 Secretaries of State (-15%):
9 of the previous government and 8 new :

15 men
2 women of the previous government for 15 men (13.33%)

Making a total of 37 (-25.9%) (including Ministers, delegate Ministers and Secretaries of States)
31 men
6 women for 31 men (19.35%)
