Extract from the speech of President Michel Martelly :

"[...]
The ceremony tonight is of particular importance to the extent that it represents for all of us the end of a long tunnel. It is the result of a long process of discussion and exchange inter Haitian. I praise the spirit of concord and openness that has guided and thank all those who contributed in one way or another to the success of this business.

[...]
I take this opportunity on behalf of the Republic, to present my compliments to all outgoing staff. They all deserved the trust placed in them. These men and women of quality will continue to serve the nation otherwise.

We extend a warm welcome to the new government and we welcome the presence of new members. This new team will have in the context of the continuity of the state and coherence of government action to undertake certain activities initiated by the previous team.

[...]
The government of consensus that we install today represents the plurality of current political sensitivities in our country. This political pluralism in the new government, was made possible thanks to the goodwill and participation of the opposition.

Therefore let us honor all those who have decided to integrate it. Their presence is participating in the shared desire to achieve lasting peace and stability in our country. We will never stop to say how much peace and political stability are necessary for the development of Haiti.

The presence of the women and men of the opposition, is part of the desire to constantly seek consensual solutions to our conflicts and our problems.

The context of this ceremony can be summarized in this effort of dialogue, compromise we have initiated and that must continue. To keep this climate we can not make the economy of consultations, meetings and agreements in the sense of national interest.

This government is the result of dialogue and consultation between girls and son of Haiti who favor what unites them, that is to say the interest of Haiti over those that divides them.

We have established a consensus government, We expect that each of its actions aims the effective improvement of living conditions of the people.

The watchword is the coordination of the different channels in order to avoid any disturbance or disruption of the republican order, anything that might jeopardize the work we do for 4 years, in order to change Haiti.

[...]
This new team will receive the new guidelines, that the affected public sectors will have to apply new regulations.

[...]
We all know, elections are the top priority of this government. The credibility of the electoral process is based on the objective and non-partisan nature of the CEP but also of the Government. We have an obligation to conduct elections that meet international standards of objectivity and credibility. I ask all members of the government to cultivate and maintain the spirit of government solidarity.

All Ministers are jointly responsible for the action of the Government. I expect that this new team around the Prime Minister Evans Paul, show some fair play, friendliness, openness and sense of responsibility.

It is now up to each to well play its part in the great orchestra is the Government.

This Government of the Republic, that you have the honor to constitute.

Good job to all of you.

Thank you."
