Haiti - Tourism : Stéphanie Villedrouin in Mexico
Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism of Haiti, arrived on Wednesday in Mexico. This is her second official visit to Mexico since she took office. The purpose of this trip is to strengthen cooperation with Mexico in the tourism sector.

As part of this visit, the Minister Villedrouin must meet Ms Claudia Ruiz Massieu, the new Secretary of State for Tourism of Mexico, to follow the cooperation agreement signed by the two countries in 2012 in the field of tourism.

In addition, Stéphanie Villedrouin, will present the tourism development project of Haiti in partnership with the private sector. Several meetings are planned in this sense, with Mexican businessmen.

Recall that, the Ministry of Tourism has signed last year, a Memorandum of Understanding with the Secretariat of State for Tourism of Mexico (SECTUR) and another MOU with the National Fund for Tourism Development (FONATUR). he Fonatur is a Mexican organization that works with Haiti in the development of the Strategic Program of Integrated Regions of Tourist Development (Régions Intégrées d’Aménagement Touristique - RIAT) of South. This tour must also allow the Minister to finalize the work of this program with the FONATUR.

The Haitian government rely on tourism as a driving force that can stimulate economic recovery and undertakes, in this sense, by significant investments in working with the private sector.

Furthermore in Haiti, the same Wednesday, less than a month after having led in Haiti, the first tourists who bought its tour package, the Canadian tour operator Transat, landed a second group of tourists at the Toussaint Louverture International Airport. Remember that this tour package is the result of the agreement announced in December and signed at the beginning of January between the Ministry of Tourism of Haiti and Transat.
