Friday, as part of the execution of communal funds, the Office of Communication of the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation (MPCE) announced the completion of the construction of a library in Terrier-Rouge (arrondissement of Trou-du-Nord), the MPCE was the prime contractor. Funded to the tune of 8 531.457 gourdes, this new socio-cultural space, will allow among other things to the population of the municipality of Terrier-Rouge [more than 27,000 inhabitants] to have access to new information technologies and stay informed in real time of all that is happening around the world. In addition, this library will be used to promote urban culture in rural areas.

Recall that other infrastructure projects are currently being completed in the 10 departments of the country, thanks to the envelope of 1.4 billion gourdes of communal funds made ​​available to the municipalities by the Government (10 million gourdes by municipalities). These include for example : the completion of concrete work on the street of the indépendance and that of Amourettes by the Ministry of Public Works in the town of Dame-Marie (department of Grand Anse) ; the Complete rehabilitation by MPCE of Public Square of the municipality of Ennery (Artibonite) ; the the completion of the construction by the MPCE of the Public Square of the municipality of Thomassique (Central Department) and the construction by the Bureau of Monetization of Development assistance programs (BMPAD) of the National School in Rivière Blanche (municipality of Gros Morne) whose status is more than 80%.

The Minister of Planning and Head of Government, Laurent Lamothe, urges local officials to submit their projects for fiscal year 2013-2014 for the construction to start in the best time in order to equip the 140 municipalities in the country with modern infrastructure for the well-being of the population.
