Haiti - Tourism : Presentation of the project Craft Village of Milot

Saturday, as part of the presentation of the project Craft Village, that the Ministry of Tourism will carry out in Milot, was held in Choiseul, a Craft-Workshop organized to the intention of merchants of handicrafts. Ms. Dieudonne Luma Etienne, Regional Director North Ministry of Tourism, recalling the promise that Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, he Minister of Tourism had made in the town during the government program "Gouvenman Lakay ou" to accompany them to improve the quality of their products, said to the participants "There is no possible tourism development without you !"

Architect Giulio Vinaccia of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Consultant-Designer of the project, made the presentation of the various components of this Craft Village that will include a reception area, screenprinting, papier mache, jewelry and sewing workshops, a design Centre, a ceramic factory, a distillery, an open auditorium, a usiness grow center, a restaurant, a store and administrative offices.

He also explained to the merchant, the importance of diversification of their products to motivate tourists to buy and leave with better memories reflecting the reality of the area. He urged the merchant, that it was by improving the quality of their products, by taking into account the evolution of the craft sector around the world, that they will have a better life "My role, is to work with you to help you develop a quality product in the Destination."
