Following the correspondence addressed to two Offices of Parliament, by the Deputy Arnel Bélizaire, informing them of his decision to undertake a hunger strike, Stevenson Jacques Thimoléon, President of the Lower House and Simon Dieuseul Desras, President of the Senate decided on Friday, 12 days after the start of the hunger strike of deputy Bélizaire, to form an ad hoc Bicameral Commission "responsible for well study the political situation and the appropriateness of momentum, to analyze the objectives pursued and support the Parliamentarian [...]"

This Commission formed Friday, is composed of Senators Riché Andrys and Fritz Carlos Lebon and of deputies Patrick Joseph, Kenston Jean-Baptiste and Guerda Benjamin.

"After 12 days of hunger strike for a just cause [...] we agreed with the members of the ad hoc Bicameral Commission to implore the Honourable Arnel Bélizaire to momentarily lift his hunger strike [... ] to give the Commission time and a serene opportunity to explore possible way of solutions and satisfaction to his legitimate grievances and claims," we can read in a statement signed by the Presidents of both Chambers, which concluded "We are asking members of the ad hoc Bicameral Commission to undertake today urgent steps with the Deputy for the immediate lifting of the strike [...]"

However, on Monday the 15th day of the strike of Deputy Bélizaire, the Commission had not yet held meeting nor made steps with the Deputy striker, said the deputy Benjamin.

For Arnel Bélizaire the end of the strike, is no longer under him, but now of the Commission that support his fight, according to him.
