Wednesday at the Primature, at the 39th Government Council, Marie Carmelle Jean Marie, Minister of Economy and Finance, confirmed the amount and availability of funding for several projects on the island of La Gonâve.

Projects for asphalting of roads will be funded to the tune of 3.5 million dollars. Pending the final construction of the road Anse-à-Galets/Pointe-à-Raquette, the Ministry of Public Works (TPTC) will dispatch one team for works of temporary improvement of the section.

A sum totaling 300,000 dollars managed by the Ministry of Finance, will be allocated to the work of Sports Centre of Anse à-Galets.

The construction of 200 housing units in Pointe-à-Raquette, will be financed by a surplus of $ 2.5 million from the funds of the debt cancellation by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The Minister stated that these funds allocated immediately, will be managed by the Unit for Housing Construction and Public Buildings (UCLBP) and will be managed by his Ministry via theFund of Economic and Social Assistance (FAES). Stressing that it was up to the State to identify land for the construction of this important project.

In the project of construction of 200 micro-retained (dams) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12051-haiti-politic-gouvenman-an-lakay-ou-a-shower-of-announcements-in-la-gonave.html , a balance of funding between TPTC and the Ministry of Agriculture Natural Resources and Rural Development, will be reassigned to their constructions in La Gonâve.

The mutuals of solidarity will be the subject of a study before injecting new funds on the 1.5 million gourdes already granted by the Haitian state. The minister Carmelle Jean Marie, said she seeks the best way to to find the means to boost these mutuals.
