Haiti - Social : Nearly 300 Haitians have received their passport in Santo-Domingo

Following the launch on July 21, of the Programme of Identification and Documentation of Haitian Immigrants (PIDIH) initiated by the Ministry of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE) together with the Haitian National Archives (ANH) and the National Identification Office (ONI) and the Directorate of Immigration and Emigration (DIE), nearly 300 of our compatriots in an irregular situation in the Dominican Republic received, Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, identification documents, including their Haitian passport, allowing them to enroll in the National Plan of Regularization of Foreigners (PNRE).

However, if we can only rejoice that finally our compatriots have finally essential documents to enroll in PNRE, established on June 2 by the Dominican Government, it must be stressed that the worst is yet to come, given the many other documents required by the Dominican authorities.For the record, according to Dominican authorities, dated 30 July 2014, 33.744 have opened a case for regularization; 633 were able to record using a document. 260 submitted a complete file and only 17 people could receive a positive response... https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11851-haiti-social-pnre-a-plan-for-regularization-or-repatriation-of-haitians.html
