Haiti - Politic : Moïse Jean-Charles would resign Monday !
Saturday at the call of the radical opposition, nearly 2,000 people, mostly young people, took part in an anti-government demonstration. Departed from St. John Bosco Church through the Boulevard La Saline, protesters chanted hostile remarks to President Martlley along the entire route, demanding his resignation. The demonstrators who wanted to get in front of the Office of the Head of State, were dispersed at the Faculty of Ethnology by security forces who used a water truck and tear gas grenades.

Only notable incident, besides the usual clashes with security forces was the arrest of Senator Moïse Jean Charles, a fierce opponent of President Martelly. According to the Senator, who spoke to our Dominican colleagues of the "Noticias Sin" the police arrested him, interrogated and detained for nearly half of the day, before releasing him, preventing him from participating fully in the event...

Moreover, always according to our colleagues, Senator Moïse would had told them that he would resign Monday, January 12 as Senator, even if the Government reached an agreement with the Parliament. A position that is in line with its September statement where he said against the idea of extending the terms of senators and deputues of the 49th Legislature. For him remain in office after January 12, 2015, was a way to condone the excesses of President Martelly "we do not accept to extend our mandate," while pointing out at the time, that this was a personal decision that did not involve his colleagues https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12140-haiti-politic-senator-moise-refuses-extension-of-his-term.html .

Buzz political-media or reality ? Answer Monday...

Next demonstration planned on January 12. A day, especially unpredictable if a solution to the crisis is not found between the executive, senators and opposition parties before midnight on Monday, which spell the end of the deadline of the period specified in the agreement of December 29, 2014 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12833-haiti-flash-the-mandates-of-deputies-and-senators-extended-under-conditions.html
