Haiti - Culture : Important donation of music materials for INAMUH 17/04/2015 12:52:10
Wednesday, at the Haiti's National Institute of Music (INAMUH), as part of the implementation program of cores of symphony orchestras and juvenile choirsn the Bolivar Music Foundation and the Society Mixed Pétion-Bolivar proceeded to the presentation of a donation of numerous musical instruments, chairs and desks (300 units of each) in the presence of Government officials, including Ms. Dithny Joan Raton, the Minister of Culture and of the Director-General Jean Michel Lapin, of Raoul Denis Jr., Director of the INAMUH and many students of the Institute. To date, the first nucleus has 675 children (music students) trained by 25 teachers. Three other cores will be implanted in other parts of the country, according to Raoul Denis Jr., Director of the INAMUH. Addressing the students of the Institute, the Minister Raton declared "This opportunity that awaits you is a turning point in your life. To maximize it, you must be tenacious and disciplined. These musical instruments are the stepping stones of your growth in the conquest of the future." Note that within just one year of training, given the weekend, the children of the INAMUH were able to ensure the musical entertainment of the ceremony in performance involving several families of instruments taught at the institute.
