"The Provisional Electoral Council informs the population in general and political parties in particular, that the named François Levelt was removed from the list of approved candidates to participate in the presidential elections of 25 October and 27 December 2015, having been convicted of possession and trafficking of crack and cocaine in the United States of America, considered transnational crime offense, in violation of article 36, paragraph (c) of the electoral Decree.
The Council, wishing to ensure strict compliance with the Electoral Decree, having been informed of the judgment against the named Levelt François, and after analysis, has consequently decided to remove him from the electoral competition."
