This infrastructure funded by the PetroCaribe Fund amounting to 16.5 million US dollars was built by the Dominican construction company Estrella, under the supervision of the firm LGL SA. The Prime Contractor was provided by the Directorate of Public Works of the Ministry. In his speech the President Martelly declared « Mwen salye tout aktè ki kontribye a reyalizasyon bèl vyadik sa. Map mande tout chofè ak pasaje pou yo pridan pou evite aksidan ak dega sou vyadik sa. This viaduct comes proving once again that together we can achieve great and beautiful things. More than a dream, more than a project, this viaduct is now part of the symbols of Port-au-Prince. Mwen te pran angajman pou m travay e mwen pap janm sispann travay pou pèp ayisyen, » adding that before the construction of this work, this place was called Carrefour airport and now it will be called "Carrefour de la Renaissance". Then the President cut the ribbon before beginning a march with officials and a jubilant population, on the viaduct of the "Carrefour de la Renaissance". Note that a second road interchange that will serve the population of Carrefour and users of the National No. 2, is under construction and scheduled to open in September 2015 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-8288-haiti-reconstruction-two-major-elevated-highway-interchange-in-delmas-and-carrefour.html See also : https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12034-haiti-reconstruction-president-martelly-visited-the-flyover-under-construction-in-delmas.html https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12072-haiti-reconstruction-the-whole-country-is-under-construction.html https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-8288-haiti-reconstruction-two-major-elevated-highway-interchange-in-delmas-and-carrefour.html HL/ TB/ HaitiLibre
