Blas Peralta, President of the Dominican Federation of Transport (FENATRADO), expressed his satisfaction for the return to normal of freight to Haiti and the security guarantee provided by the Haitian authorities.
He said that since the return to normal of freight Friday following the agreement signed last Thursday, confirming the commitment and determination of the Haitian government to ensure the safety of Dominican transporters and goods entering and leaving of Haiti "We have had no problems. ransportation is normal and we are satisfied with the security that the Haitian government gives us," adding that "businessmen Haitian and Dominican are grateful of this agreement."
Max Antoine, the Executive Director of the Haitian Technical Border Commission, assured that the security level put in place since last Friday, will be maintained, stressing that between 100 and 150 trucks from neighboring country, entering daily on the roads of Haiti by three border points official: Dajabón, Elías Piña and Jimani. He explained that the Haitian authorities had placed a security cordon on the roads and in the most critical areas where most robberies and disorders have been reported, indicating that these areas have been placed at risk of heavily armed police patrols, incorporating a security force similar to SWAT.
He said he was also pleased with the efforts of the Dominican government, through its Ambassador in Haiti, Rubén Silié, which helped put an end to this strike of Dominican carriers, which raged at the border since August 3, 2015.
