Tuesday, dissatisfied with the decision of the Commission of Mediation, which had appointed former journalist Clarens Renois as the sole candidate for the presidency of the Protestant sector https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-15043-haiti-news-electoral-zapping.html over 150 Protestant leaders, heads of missions, churches, schools, organizations, leagues of pastors and Christian institutions have met at the Plaza Hotel to reverse this decision.

During this meeting, these leaders have acclaimed Pastor Jean Chavannes Jeune and makes the process of Clarens Renois, they recognize the qualities of former journalist, but they do not see anything of his achievements or his Christian commitment within the Protestant community...

Sheets of paper were distributed to the audience as a ballot containing the names of the 9 presidential candidates : Amos André, Jean-Claude Rénold Bazin, Nelson Flecourt, Jean-Chavannes Jeune, Maxo Joseph, Jephté Lucien, Jean Palème Mathurin, Clarens Renois and Jacques Sampeur

After the vote Jean Chavannes Jeunes was elected unsurprisingly single presidential candidate to represent the Protestant sector in the next election. On the 9 candidacies, Pastor Jeune got 95 votes and Clarens Renois 0 votes...

According to these religious leaders Pastor Chavannes Jeune, candidate for president under the banner of "CANAAN" was chosen for his experience, his stature of man of God and tireless preacher for 40 years in the Protestant sector, and for his accomplishments: schools, churches, hospitals among others...

The participants promised to pray for all candidates and to support Jean Chavannes Jeune by all means in their power to contribute to its success.

Note that the members of the Mediation Commission, have not responded to the invitation of this group of Protestant leaders and none of the candidates were present at the meeting, not having been invited.

Clarens Renois and Chavannes Jeune are therefore designated in the division by two groups of the Protestant sector, as "single" presidential candidate... Note that the withdrawal of other presidential candidates in this sector has not been requested by neither group...
